Rachel Roddy is one of the country’s best-loved food writers, whose weekly column in the Guardian and two award-winning cookbooks gently guide readers through the food culture, stories and recipes of Rome, her adopted city. However, Rachel grew up in Harpenden on the edge of the Chilterns and we are delighted to welcome her back to the area for a special supper club event.
Housed in the farm’s beautiful Herb House (it will be chilly, so dress up warm), Rachel will greet diners with a welcome glass of fizz before a short interview and Q&A before dinner. Then, at large informal sharing tables, guests will be treated to four courses of traditional Italian food but made with the finest of local ingredients. Four courses, four tables, and Rachel will join each for a course to chat all things food, Italy and food writing.
Local wine supplier Jackson & Seddon, who specialise in importing organic Italian wines from boutique, small suppliers will be keeping glasses topped up throughout the evening with carafes of wine on each table.
Jackson and Seddon will also be taking case orders on the night so you can stock up your wine rack before Christmas.
Following dinner there will be the chance to buy Rachel’s cookbooks and have them signed.
Tickets are limited, so be quick!
Please note: this is a supper club in the true sense of the word. Seating will be on long communal tables. The venue is beautiful, magical, unusual and rustic. We do have a heating, but a greenhouse is a tricky thing to heat perfectly in November so wear layers. There might be the odd drip if it is raining but it all adds to the charm!Buy Tickets View the menu
