Join award-winning writer Gill Meller of River Cottage fame for a supper club at Peterley Manor Farm’s Herb House hosted by Chilterns Food Magazine.
Finding fame on River Cottage alongside Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and now the author of two award-winning solo cookbooks, Gather and Time and the latest River Cottage Handbook, Gill Meller is one of the freshest and most exciting voices in British food writing. His passion is for collaborating with small artisan producers and in eating aligned with the seasons, an ethos very close to our heart here at Peterley Manor Farm. We are delighted to be welcoming Gill, alongside Chilterns Food Magazine, to the Chilterns for a special supper club event.
Housed in our beautiful Herb House, guests will be welcomed on arrival with a cocktail from our friends at Campfire Gin. Gill will be cooking the main course over an open fire in a fire pit and diners will have the chance to chat to Gill, finding out more about his culinary journey so far while tucking into a selection of inventive canapes. Then, at large informal sharing tables, guests will enjoy four courses of inventive British cooking, using ingredients sourced locally, alongside those a little more unusual – either foraged in the wild or from Gill’s friends in the southwest.
Throughout the evening there will be both a cash bar for wine, beer and soft drinks and a special gin bar from Puddingstone Distillery, with cocktails and G&Ts made using their range of award-winning local gins.
Following dinner there will be the chance to buy Gill’s books and have them signed.
Please find the full Menu here.
Please note: this is a supper club in the true sense of the word. Seating will be on long communal tables. The venue is beautiful, magical, unusual and rustic. We do have a heating, but a greenhouse is a tricky thing to heat perfectly so do wear layers. There might be the odd drip if it is raining but it all adds to the charm!
